Contacts in #3559 dump car | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

The contacts on the slider pickups on the car don't make contact with the flat spring contacts which are connected to the coupler coils and the dump coil. Neither one works. Has anyone had this problem and found a cure?

Lionel made a spring adjustment tool that is used to fix this problem. The tool has been reproduced and should be available. It is a small rod with a slot cut in the end. The slot can be put over the flat spring and then the spring can be bent to increase tension and keep the foot on the spring parallel to the truck frame.

I believe that the spring adjusting tool is Lionel ST-302.
