Container Crane recomendations

scratch building for a structure like this may be the only way to go. I have constructed a number of them to unload ships and will be making two for a rail yard in the near future.

Yes, commercially available products are limited at best for O scale/O gauge. Besides the working Lionel MiJack and the Lionel gantry crane, you only have static displays of Joal die cast PPM/Terex superstacker container loader/ unloader or Menards container stacker.[which is really used to stack container boxes at container terminals, not load and unload container well cars]

A more detailed scale MiJack or Drott container lifter would have to be scratchbuilt.

i too was not a big fan of the Mi-Jack.  The cranes shown above  are nicely done. I think it would be easy to design and laser cut and built.

I like the movable crane that moves relative and parallel  to the track AND moves transverse across several tracks to a road for unloading.

I like it because of the reduction in BULK that was present in the Mi-Jack.

thanks, yea, there were several seatrain locations i took bits and pieces from them to design mine.
