Converted MTH PS-2 to PS-32 For 2R DCC

The polarity resolution and DCC compatibility is having me consider converting some of my Proto-2 scale-wheeled engines to Proto-3 Anxiously awaiting the new kits. Any idea if they can be used to convert an earlier locomotive to Proto-3?

Matt, Yes.  The PS-32 board in the Upgrade kit, is the same as the potential repair replacement for any PS-2 3V or 5V engine.   G

I hope there's instructions for me to figure out. I thought the kits would still have some kind of jumper on the board for DCC/DCS.

They do.  I used a PS-1 speaker connector and wired to the switch and plugged it on the jumper.  Shorted is DCS.  Open is DCC.   G

what will a kit kost?

and is it just change boards?

Anyone have an idea of when these kits will be released to the public and their cost? I have several scale PS-2 diesels that I would prefer to convert the PS-2 system over to PS-3 or DCC rather than strip out the electronics and install DCC cards with sound boards. MTH has stated Jun/Jul.  So soon....

For a PS-2 3V upgrade to PS-32, yes just board swap, remove battery.

Remove polarity switch or use it for DCC/DCS switch.

Keep 2R - 3R switch. Depending on model.  G
