Just a public service announcement here and maybe others have already discovered this, but went to wire both my 16826 FT CC Remote O-72 switches to Auxiliary Power yesterday after pulling the jumper from Track Jumper and Aux In. After extensive troubleshooting, I discovered Track Jumper worked as the Aux In. Probably wired incorrectly at the factory. Hooked up to Aux Grd and Track Jumper, worked like a champ. What should have taken me a few minutes, ended up taking hours

I wish you had posted your problem earlier! Search shows this recent post.
Same here..took a bit to troubleshoot. The switch would chatter-sometimes not switch.
The fuse would blow...The orientation of wiring for the aux/track block is different on the left and right switch. They wired my right for a left...
I assume that you were wiring the switch for AUX power and never tried track Power..
If you did the switch would work/chatter and eventually blow the resistor fuse.
Had the same problem with 3 or 4 072 switches . Called Lionel and they e-mailed a memo with photos regarding fix. Had to remove back plate - unsolder a few wires and resolder to different terminals.
Attached is their memo.
