1st generation Lionel mikado jr...should i use cruise commander or cruise lite?

Cruiser lite will work fine. I'm using them on three hudsons that I repowered with a can motor.
Romiller
I use the CC-Lite, but I do one addition. I use a 750ma hold, 1.5A trip PTC, Digikey: MF-R075-0-99-ND in one of the motor leads. This protects the CC-Lite against motor stalls as the drivers don't tolerate much of an overload. I had one go up in smoke when it stalled on a switch, that was with a beta test version of the CC-Lite. With the addition of the PTC, I haven't lost any boards.
Thanks all!
Grj...can you maybe post photos of installation? Not quite sure how the fuse is resettable...
Ok...now understand...what is typical reset time?
It varies, but usually 10-15 seconds. In normal operation it shouldn't be tripping, so the reset time is somewhat of a moot point.

romiller, what kind of Hudsons were these? And if you repowered them, did they originally have AC motors?? I would love to see some pics of this, or even a crude sketch of how you shoehorned a can motor into a Postwar 2056. My inquiring mind wants to know... Thanks!
