Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with Lee Willis and his wife.  The pictures that he posts of his projects are just a taste of his multiple talents.  Being able to interact with a forum member beyond the keyboard is something everyone should attempt.

I have a few pics.,  but for some reason I am unable to add them at this time.

CSXJOE,

I couldn't agree with you more.  In 2007 I met fellow Forumite, Scale Rail.  I wrote to him on the forum because we both had something in common in that we both lived in the same California county.  One thing lead to another and he invited me to go with him to do a filming of the Southern Pacific 2472 locomotive.  Next, my wife and I went over to his house for dinner and I saw his layout.  We became good friends and went out to dinner with the wives many times.  We also rode the 2472 numerous times.  He also taught me some valuable tips for making layout scenery and buildings.  He also taught me some great techniques for railroad photography.

Unfortunately we do not visit them much now because they moved to Hawaii.  We have a standing invitation to visit them there and I know we will in the near future.  In the mean time we keep in touch via email and phone.  So...out of the Forum, for me, came a lifetime friendship.  Matt

Thanks, Joe.  We had a wonderful time and enjoyed looking at the photos of your layout and the plans for one you are about to start on.  I was an idiot and forgot to take a memory card out of the computer and slip it in our camera, so I can't post pictures either - all those my wife took are gone.  But we have lots of good memories of having fun playing in my sandbox and we have to do it again.

You meet the nicest folks on this forum!
