Customizing MTH Railking building

Yes I have.  The windows pop out and replaced the glass with clear plastic, made floors and walls and did interiors.  You can't readily change the window frames because of how they are made behind the window but with work I'm sure you can change it.

As mentioned above they just pop out.  You can use your thumb.  If you have a lot to do a common "flathead" screwdriver will work also.

I did the reverse and went from clear to frosted.

Yes... That is possible too.  You can buy LED bulbs that will fit the existing sockets, but that can be pricey depending on how many you have.  Here is the base of the MTH bank.

You can also retrofit an LED Christmas light if you have the time and like to do that sort of thing.

In the pic below, the bayonet bulb on the left was purchased.  The one on the right had the regular bulb taken out and an LED Christmas light installed.  Don't forget the resistor... Or it won't last long.

You can also completely remove the stock lights and replace with an LED string. 

I purchased these mini lights on Christmas clearance.

I like these LED lights that come on a roll.  Easy to use and they can be cut every third light for nice customization.

Remember, LEDs prefer DC power to get the most life out of them.

Almost every light on here is led. I didn’t change the Starlight Diner or the billboards. 

Do a Google search for "images curtains" find the images you like save and resize to fit the windows. Also reinforced packing tape makes good blinds the clear tape with the white lines.

do the roofs, or sides or top pop off?  

Each model is different, but most bases are removable by screws for access to the inside.

I'm between Buffalo and Rochester. NYC folks think Upstate is 10 miles north of Manhattan. It was just a little dig at the city. I should change it to Western NY and avoid more confusion.

Just playing with you John.... I know a lot of people think upstate is crossing the Throgsneck Bridge. .  My daughter goes to RIT and I just spent a year opening an office in Lockport.... I love Western NY....but it is just upstate Penn.
