Hello all,

I have been getting your help for several months now and maybe I can contribute a little bit. I find that cutting track is much easier with Harbor Freight high speed cutting tool number 68523 which is a 3 inch electric  cutting wheel tool. I was using a Dremel with the 2-inch wheel but find this to be a lot easier as far as I'm concerned. I use a small piece of copper as a guide  as you can see inthe picture . Cutting wheels last heck of a lot longer too. Obviously you have to be very careful because it is a much powerful tool than a Dremel. What do you guys think?

Using Lionel tubular track I have cut more track than I care to remember. I started out using a Dremel with a cutting wheel but very often was left with more of a beveled cut so I purchased one of Jim Lyle's Track Wacker jigs while at York. It works well but certainly requires more effort than a power tool. I like HW's Harbor Freight chop saw idea. Sounds like I should check them out.

Hi Eric, 

Your tool is great but I think a 6-foot cut-off saw might be a little big. I know, I know you meant a 6 inch one. I just noticed the 6-inch one at Harbor Freight and you can get it at $44 plus they're normal 20% discount. Going to look at 1 tomorrow. Thanks for all the suggestions.
