I just about got the second control panel ready to put in after cracking the 1st one and starting over. I'm pre-wiring the toggles on the bench as much as I can for obvious reasons. I'm using DPDT (on-on) to control the Tortoise Switch Machines, powered by a wall-wart, with a Yellow/Green LED wired in for switch indication.

My question is:

Can I daisy chain the power taps on each toggle to the next? or does each individual toggle need a seperate power feed. Obviously each toggle gets its own pair of wires for the switch it's controlling, but I'd like to eliminate another pair of wires to feed power to each toggle if I can just daisy chain them all together.

I have all the toggles in place so far for the track that we have in place. I pre-wired as much of it at the bench as I could. Currently you see 2 seperate circuits to power the Tortiose machines, hence the red/green and black/white daisy chains.

One question I have reguarding the wal warts I'm using to power the switch machines. They are 2 identical wal warts, showing an output of 12vdc at 1000ma.

When I put the volt meter on the bare wires of each wal wart, they read 17v. WHy are they showing 17v and will it hurt the tortoise machines?
