Marker's thread about the Santa Fe freight FT's prompted me for a photo of our MTH Premiere Rio Grande FTs. They hadn't been run since we dismantled the AT&SF over 2 years ago. Tonight I took one unit to the clubhouse for a few miles of track time. Here's a beautiful seldom-seen Western road diesel in the western NC mountains.

Sam....that is a beautiful set!! Thanks for the pictures
Alan
Very nice looking set.
As usual Sam, beautiful photos.
Are FTs generally shorter in length than an F3?
And either way, when the FTs are released as scale, semi scale, or non scale, how do they size compare to a Lionel post war F3?
I like those!!! Which units are they????
And they are right at home in my world. My layout is set eastern US.....but I run D&RGW locos!!!! My D&RGW is Denver NC, Rio Grande Ohio.......so perfect in NC mountains!
I'm not certain what the number on these are Dave as I don't have the boxes. From what I remember, they are early PS2 models from 2000-2001.
I have an AA pair and the trailing unit has a full PS2 system in it - it is an independent locomotive with the soundset from the B&O FTs that were a sister set from the same catalog I think. My plan was to pull the system and convert that one to a dummy and use the PS2 to upgrade another diesel someday. Enter in the proverbial "plans of mice and men.."
