It is neat, and the attractive thing to me, is the cost. These locos have no smoke or sound, so a $20 decoder is better than TMCC or DCS if you can get it. You can install DCC to your entire roster for the cost of a couple of DCS or TMCC units.
Chris, they are DC, but you would only need to fit either a bridge rectifier, or feed DC to your track. Because I mix my MTH Euro locos with these DC locos, I use an MTH Commander. The MTH locos also run on DC, so that way, I have DCS control DCC (via DCC controller) or straight analogue DC.
Hi Dave, Thanks for the kind comments concerning the Darstaed 2-6-2T image. The Jinty is another cracking little model for sure and here's my tribute to this one:
Sorry for the slow response Dave, only just picked this up. For my part, I would have to say the model just needs to go forward and backward and I'm a happy chap, but then I'm also a very simplistic, backward looking sort of bore, who has no experience of such technical wizardry. I'll run it across our UK forum and see if I can elicit some sort of response. Unfortunately its still mid-winter over here and many still seem to be in hibernation. I'll see if I can wake them up & get back to you shortly.
