I have a DCS/Fastrack layout.  There a 30 inch section of track where the track signal shows 9s and 10s, but when the MTH engines go through the particular area, the engine slows down, the lights dim, then engine briefly races for a couple seconds, and then resumes the normal speed, lights, etc.  I'm baffled because track signal is strong.  I have tried different engines with the same results. Does anyone have remedies for this?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Ed Abbot,

Try adjusting the join pins on your 30" track section so they fit perfectly, unfortunately the QC on the newer FasTrack is not what it was on the 1st and 2nd Generation Track.  In reality this particular 30" section may have been made incorrectly, you have just found out that power and DCS signal are not really the same engineering.    Most are doing like George advises and adding an additional drop.  Which if the track was built correctly you should not need to due.  It is however the quick and dirty fix most of the time.   I am taking for granted all your FasTrack connections are perfect also, as you are showing 9's and 10's thru out your layout.

If you are running Legacy with your DCS, is your Legacy Engine having the same problem thru that 30" track section?  I would be most interested in knowing.

ED, I do run a few 30" sections of FasTrack myself.
