Hey guys all of my dcs locos say engine not on track, the active trains will still start up but have limited control just will be able to move it but lose smoke and a few other features. if i go to check track signal it says RF out of range. Inactive trains don't turn on, Thanks for any help you can give

Did you try doing feature and factory resets, sometime it makes a difference, does your remote communicate to the tiu, if your only using one tiu it should report tiu 1 found.  if not you might try a tiu reset which will set tiu back to factory specs!

ps also are you running ps 2 or ps 3 engines, ps 2 are polarity sensitive where as ps 3 or not polarity sensitive !

You might try tethering the remote with a phone handset cord. That will get the remote communicating with the TIU and go from there.

Can you describe the layout itself as far as size, how it’s wired, how many channels are used on the TIU and how well it previously functioned ?  Your mentioning multiple engines. Are all these engines residing on the layout or are they coming off of shelves and have been inactive for some time ?

You made need to just start out testing with something as simple as a 3 ft. coming out of Fixed One just to test the TIU channels. Start small and go from there if nothing obvious jumps out as to the problem. I doubt every engine could have an issue.
