Decal Paper??

I was just in Staples looking for some of this, which I had once found decades ago in a little independent print shop

"long ago and far away", if I can quote Zane Grey. Two Staples employess, were totally befuddled by such a wild

request, and knewth not of what I spoke. In spite of my second unspoken question, I don't literally think they lived

in a tree. Obviously I am going to have to go farther afield, but, to where? Where can I find this? I model defunct

railroads and their rolling stock, as well as structures, and would like decent lettering on all of it. This subject was

recently on another thread, but no source for the paper was mentioned.

I bought mine from MicroMark, too. I also found some on Amazon once. Some brands of the paper require a "fixer" be applied after printing. I found this annoying since I had not bought the fixer.

Lee you can use almost any fixative...clearcote gloss or dullcote depending on the look you want. I have made decals from other ready made decals or advertising on line or boxes. I once bought some very thin decal paper on line and no matter what I did the ink washed right off in the water.

I've had good luck with Evan Designs decal paper. The paper doesn't need a fixative and they have two types, clear and white (for images with white in the design. I believe they are a Forum sponsor.
