I have been able to get a few of the S Scale America cars by Des Plains Hobbies...The detail on these is fantastic! They are also reasonably priced.  I would like to get a whole line of the BNSF coalporters to run a coal train.  I have about 6 of these cars total.  Des Plains Hobbies is not quite "right down the road" from me but from time to time it is worth the drive.  I wish they had a better website with PICTURES if their s gauge items!  Does anyone else have any S Scale America cars to share?

Many of the DPH/SSA cars are derived from tooling from other companies that for various reasons left the S market.  Here's a sample.

3 bay open hopper (formerly Chesapeake Models tooling)

PCV 021911 16

40' steel reefer (formerly Pacific Rail Shops tooling)

PPC 060708 01

40' AAR box car (formerly Pacific Rail Shops tooling)

rFest 10 060912 05

Tanks a lot...  Single dome tank cars (formerly, the previous S Scale America tooling.  Yes, DesPlaines Hobbies adopted the SSA branding.)

Tank SHPX 9565

UTLX 073011 09

Ben

Both cars have different numbers.  As I recall, four numbers were available, but because Sanda Kan was screwing around with DPH, the quantities per number weren't as contracted and the club gave number preference to those who ordered earliest.
