Can one of the output selections on the Digitrax PS2012E be adjusted to 18vdc?

SanDogDewey: The instruction manual indicates that the output selections are based on the scale of the railroad. None of them at 18VDC. You would have to add something else to obtain the desired voltage.

Thank you, I read the instruction manual. I wondered if anyone has tried to adjust the HO output up to 18 vdc or the G output down to 18 vdc. Seems like a nice power supply for my Lionel Fastrack. Would only the top speed of a LionChief loco be limited running at 16 vdc, or are there other implications?
I think the power supply is very nice. I understand it is a filtered DC power supply too. On any thing I use with DCC or straight DC, the only thing voltage affects is top speed. All the DCC systems I have dealt with have a range of voltage listed as input such as 12-16 or 16-20. Digitrax Boosters and Command Stations have a wide range of acceptable inputs.
SanDogDewey: It may be possible to drop the voltage from the 23 volts of the "G" output to 18 volts using silicon diodes. Each diode will drop the voltage by about 0.7 volts. You would need a string of 7 diodes to get close to the 18 VDC that you want.
I don't know off hand what part number to recommend but I'm sure that there are diodes that can handle the amperage that you want to put through them.
