I want to thank all of you all who have supported me and answered my questions as I am getting back into model railroading with my nephew.

I am looking at direct wiring my Fastrack Uncoupling track. Looking at the diagram in the owners manual describing hooking up the Aux in, can I attache that by suitcase clip to my 14 volt accessory bus? The only things I have attached to the 14 volt accessory bus at this time are my nine command switches ( I am set up to run conventional).

Also do I need to run a separate ground or does it get the ground from the track power?  If I need to run separate ground can I attach again by suitcase clip to my common ground bus wire? I have only one transformer which happens to be the Type TW which is the transformer I had as a kid. Interesting how this transformer has the U terminal going to hot (center rail) while all of the other transformers I have read about have the U going to ground (outside rail). Could anyone tell me why the difference?

Will this uncoupling track work on all Lionel cars produced in the early 50's? That is how old my rolling stock is.

Thank you again for your help.

Check out the 1033 & 1044 also. "U" is hot / center rail on those as well. These two are common examples, but the convention is exactly that for postwar transformers - all single throttle transformers have "U" to the center rail. "A" is often the common/ground/outside rail, but it could be any of several depending on the transformer & application.

As soon as you move to multiple throttle transformers, you will see "U" is common.

For your uncoupling track, with the TW, it should get the ground connection from the layout, which of course is "A" in your case.

Thank you. Just to clarify can I run the hot wire on the uncoupling track to my 14 volt bus that currently only has my 9 switches. This bus is connected to the D terminal (14 volts) on my Type TW transformer or should I run this all the way back to the transformer. Sorry for such an elementary question.

Hooking it up to the buss is fine.  Of course you have to put a button in between to have control of the uncoupling track.
