I need some advice on how to incorporate a structural support pole, extending from floor to ceiling, into my layout. The pole is 2 feet from the back wall and I have 2 mainline tracks running behind the pole. I would like to disguise the front and sides of the pole. I thought about covering it with mountain scenery and placing oil drilling accessories at the base of the mountain. However, any ideas fron you all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sometimes the best approach is to paint it flat black. Attempts at hiding it might direct attention to it.
Look in issue 267 of OGR mag page 50. The author used a building 28 inches tall to hide a pole.
Paint it whatever the background color is. Also, you may try to incorporate it as a tank in a refinery or grain bin...many possibilities depending upon where it is exactly.
