I have this old California Zephyr menu (this is not my photo) and the bridge on the cover is stunning. This is the only photo I've ever seen of it. Is it still around or was it replaced? It says it is on the North Fork of Feather River Canyon.

GREAT bridge and question, but probably should be on the Real Train forum. ☺
a quick google map search says yes

That's how I was trying to do it. I'm just a little too slow.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!
There are a number of other pretty spectacular bridges in Butte County, California. Interesting site: bridgehunter.com
I was going to try to "Google" it as well. Also to slow. From the satellite image I looked at, that funny little bend at the SW end has to be a pain to navigate ...

Do you mean the river? That is the Feather River, which is NOT navigable due to all the rapids. The original Western Pacific RR, now the Union Pacific RR, had/has quite a bit of trouble with that Feather River Canyon, what with the various rock slides, flooding with wash-outs, and snow.
I'd love to take the Zephyr someday, does the Amtrak still use the same route?

Me too, but unfortunately it doesn't go through the Feather River Canyon anymore. It takes the former SP route over Donner Pass. Equally beautiful, but a departure from the historic route of the Cal Z .

Being a native Californian (moved 29 years ago), I'm quite familiar with the Feather River. If you take a look at the Google image, they stitched two satellite images together at the SW end of the bridge and the images don't meet correctly. It looks like the track has an unnavigable bend in it. It was a poor attempt at humor and i humbly apologize.
That's a viaduct! Where are our English Majors now?
And poor humor is better than no humor at all.
I have aframe print of matching WP engines and cars on that bridge, publicity thing from the 1960s.
and yes, it's still there, but difficult to get to to see it.

I don't think so. The Amtrak Zephyr takes the UP transcon over Donner Pass.
