I found this at DG this morning in the gardening section. $2 for 80". Small wire inside soft rubber-like coating. It will bend easily and hold its shape. I am going to try paint on it today but foresee no problems.

Hi Malcolm, this is a very cool find. I can see using this stuff from bridge suspension cable to down pipes on buildings and elevated roadways.
I don't know what "DG" stands for but I will look for it when I'm in a gardon center.
Thank You!

DG= Dollar General which is a discount store chain. We have them here in Florida. Some good deals to be found at times.
Thank You fellows, We don't have DG's up here but I may be able to find the soft wire ties if I look on the local market. Who knows I may wont to bundel something together.
I bought three LED flickering tea lights at the Dollar Store locally. I use the flickering LED's to replace the lamp for a flickering firebox glow in locomotives, and the switch on the bottom is the exact size of the Lionel switches for various functions on most of their locomotives. Finally, you get a CR2032 battery, something that is used in many items, and costs a lot more than 33 cents if you just buy it by itself!
Each of these items by themselves would cost far more than the entire tea light.
Wowak,
Hang around the OGR scenery forum once in a while. You'll see lots of ingenious ways to recycle common items into detail parts.
Malcolm - good find - thanks for posting.
Jim
