I am building A coal mine scene ( Dusty Coal Sales) with an old guy having A mule pulling A dump cart out of the mine and dumping into A hopper. The dump cart does not have to dump just look like it does. Are their any on30 dump cars for sale that are manufactured or would I be better off making my own? Thanks for any help. Choo Choo Kenny

BTS shows a (3) car package On30 (17241) for mine cars ($40). Listed as part of one of there coal tipple offerings. Click on the underlined phrase and Scroll down on this link to view the cars.
A lot of the old mine cars were end dump so they could easily be dumped into something. I built one using N gauge wheels and track on my old On30 layout.
As for On30 gauge dump cars, I built simple (non-operating) V-bottom side dumps out of styrene and mounted on an HO freight truck. Check the photo below. Three are displayed on rear track directly in front of the depot...
Back in the day, Bachmann came out with a three car set of ready to run On30 side dump ore cars. Don't know if they are still doing so.
Bachmann shows both the wood sided side dump car (Item # 29801)
and the V Dump car (29802) as available on their website.
Each come in a 3 car set, MSRP $105.00
with a little research you can probably find these at a better than MSRP price

The BTS mine car is a good bet. Also, take a look at the Grandt one-ton mine car:
This car is kind of dinky, but straight forward to build. The BTS kit is more fiddly; it is also designed for a rotary dumper but visually the difference is not very apparent.
Lastly, a romp through Google will turn up images of mule-pulled mine car scenes that ought to be useful (I have a large folder of images that I've collected).
Thank You everyone for your help and input. I think I am going to try to scratch build A cart and if I don't like it I will get the 3 pack that Mike CT suggested from B.T.S.. Thanks for the help and take care everyone. Choo Choo Kenny
