The subject is a Williams GG1 from 1979 with 2 big Pittman motors.  Simply, I wish to get rid of the buzzing mechanical E unit, which is way noisier than the motors.  I have an electronic unit from a small DC motored Lionel engine from the '80's and wonder if it is robust enough to use in the Williams?  Any other alternatives?

You are most welcome, thought it might be something you could use? I have command only and have no idea what a good price for these things would be?
