Hoping MTH will consider producing EJ&E GP38-2's in the near future... Such as the locomotive depicted below

Yes, I hope so too. I grew up about 3 houses away from the "J". They were running the big center cab Baldwin transfer locomotives then in the 1950's. Someone made those a few years ago. I would like one of those also. You have a great idea.
Awesome Oscar! Definitely an interesting railroad and heritage. Very colorful bright paint scheme as well. Can run in several eras all the way up to present day.
I grew up in Lake Zurick. We were the high point on the EJ&E watching those big 2,000 hp Baldwins struggle coming up the grade from Barrington was always fun to watch. They sometime had a lot of wheel slip.
The crews took their lunch and dinner breaks because there was a good diner a block form the tracks. They left their cab doors unlocked, so one time I climbed aboard and sat in the engineers seat. They caught me, and man were they ever up set. They asked me repeatedly if I touched anything. I swore that I didn't. Then they showed me all around the cab. Nice guys!
I grew up in Chicago Heights, a grass field away from the "J" East and West main tracks in the 1950's , daily I saw the green and orange Baldwin center cabs.
