I've been spending a little time on my engine facility. I have the turn table installed and started doing some scenery. I still have to paint over my thermostat sun!

You are right Dave, that AMW Roundhouse is a really nice kit. I think I might incorporate one of those myself. Nice work, as always.

John,
That one is a Korber. I do really like the AMW though!
Mr. Penca Oberon always helps! Magic Hat will also do!

Dave,
Everything looks awesome! Who makes the coaling tower?
Steve
Dave, that is simply beautiful. A true work of art and a great inspiration to me. I do not have a turn table. I felt I just simply did not have the real estate available to place one. Your pictures have altered my thinking on this. Thank you so much for posting the pictures.
Really nice, Dave......I'll be up soon...Tom
Looks real nice Dave.
Very nice...I like the messy/dirty feel the area has.
Just a beautiful scene. I like it!!
Very nice modeling.
Very nice work, Dave. You've inspired me to pick up one of these beauties.
Dave
What size turntable did you use and how much layout space is needed including the turntable and roundhouse?
Thanks

Al,
This is from Korber Model's website:
"The footprint of the three stall kit is 15" at the front, 28.5" at the back with a depth of 30"."
That gives you an idea of how much "real estate" it would take up alone without the turntable and not to mention adding the extra stall to the roundhouse.
More excellent work from one of the true talents in this hobby! I don't know where you find the time, Dave, but I'm sure glad that you do!
Well done, Dave.
Peter
Once again Dave....expertly done....just beautiful!
Alan
Looks really good Dave.
Thanks for sharing.
Hello,
I installed an ash pit made of pink foam and plaster. The railings are TIG rod. The driver is just to keep weight on the rope and pulley. I will eventually replace it with an HO clam shell. My friend Sam scratch built the coaling tower.
Dave
Great job on this!
Dave
Beautiful work Dave!

Dave,
Great work, yet now our union rep wants to know how you hire your yard employees.
Dave, My eye's are not as good as they use to be but, that sure looks like a woman in a bathing suit looking at the pit??
Nice work.
Nice job Dave!
Coming along nicely Dave. Sweet pics!
Dave can you share with use the trees you use?
Thanks,
Very nice....I'm switching beer! Tom
Dave...very nicely done. I like your picture angles too!
Alan
Dave can you share with use the trees you use?
Thanks,
Most of the ones in that photo are Super Trees from Scenic Express. There are some others in that scene that are made from a weed that grows in the parking lot across from the shop. When the weed is younger, the branches make an excellent armature for trees. When they grow up the branches are too big and spread out. I wonder what people think when they see me pulling weeds from the parking lot.
Thanks for the nice comments!

Al,
The bridge is a Ross bridge. (the biggest one) I made the pit and used a 1" id bearing in a cast iron pillow block for the mount. I am working on my own drive system for this.
The whole scene is about 10' long and a few feet wide at its widest point. It is located at the top of the stairs going into the train room.
