I have been looking for some "modern"6 axle diesel locomotives, specifically a Conrail, BNSF, NS, CSX or ATSF. I'd want it to be 2017 or newer Legacy models- aka Blue tooth, IR sensors, etc...- but if it was the right one(like an ATSF Kodachrome SD40t-2 from 2004) I'd be fine with TMCC. However, currently prices are a bit too high IMO.
I've found some really great looking Weaver diesels, but they rarely have TMCC. They're conventional with dual flywheel can motors, electronic reverse unit(DCRU by QSI) and have "QS-1 sound".
Are these difficult to convert to ERR? I've done research on converting Lionel, Atlas and K-line units, w/ and w/o TMCC and/or odyssey/TaS/Cruise, to ERR- but haven't ever looked into MTH proto 1 or Weaver conventional units.
Are there any issues/added difficulties in converting a Weaver unit such as the one mentioned above to ERR?
Also, this is just a general question to which I haven't found an answer: ERR's cruise M is described as "Legacy compatible"...
-Does that just mean it works with Legacy?
-Can locos with Cruise M be MU'd(lashed-up) with a Legacy unit put in TMCC/32 step mode?
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!!!
