Ertl 2517 1:43 scale American Classics Sheriff 1940 Ford "Woody" Wagonmaster.
This 1:43 scale diecast vehicle is a neat model that could be used on a O scale model railroad or for use on a separate diorama. It is a close replica of the classic 1940 Ford Woody. Although this is a steam era model it could be heavily weathered and used on a more modern era layout. This model has lettering for "Sheriff".
Considered by many to be the high water mark of Ford pre-War styling, 1940 Fords of all varieties are instantly recognizable as true icons of American design. With a $947 original retail price, the V8-powered SW ‘Woody’ wagons were famously the most expensive model offered for 1940, coach built in Ford’s Iron Mountain plant by skilled craftsmen using Ash, Maple, and Basswood harvested from Ford’s own forests in Northern Michigan. Just 8,730 were built in total.
Prototype 1940 Ford woody is shown.
