can a factory reset be done with a z1000 transformer. If possible how?

This video shows the Z-4000 and Z-750 button sequence. I would have to guess the Z-1000 would be the same.
1 Horn, 5 Bells.
That is the conventional reset. I think the factory reset needs DCS.

MTH Manual calls 1 Horn, 5 Bells a factory reset.

Thanks for posting this I usually take mine to my local hobby store but the owner is 77 so that won't work forever. He does do it for free but I will give it a shot next time I need it done.

There is a difference between a conventional "Factory Reset" and a Factory Reset under DCS control. Notice the conventional reset is called "Reset To Factory Defaults". However, that doesn't reset stuff that only the DCS Factory Reset touches. FWIW, there's occasionally a need to do a conventional reset for DCS operation as well, I've run across two different instances of that being a factor.
