Does anyone know what AWG gauge of copper wire is equivalent in resistance per foot to a single piece of Fastrac rail?

I'm guessing it would be pretty big wire. 
Truthfully, the resistance of the connections at the track pins will be a far bigger factor than the resistance of the actual tracks.
Bob Nelson(lionelsoni) estimates O track comparable to 16 AWG copper wire, which has a resistance of 4 milli-ohms per foot. He recommends using 14 AWG(solid or stranded - your choice) as feeders to be certain that the feeder resistance is less than that of the track itself.
As John points out, the joints are much more critical.
