Ladies & Gentlemen,

Recently I purchased a 072 WYE FasTrack Command Control switch for the specific intention of testing the switch in my FasTrack Christmas layout, with both my O Gauge 263E Tin Plate Train and my 2600 Tin plate.  After running in both directions with both Tin Plate size trains the CC FT 072 WYE command Control Switch functioned perfectly, the auto derail function also worked perfectly.

The switch even allowed the big 810 Crane car to be backed thru it in either direction at slow speeds, without derailing any rolling stock at any time.   There is one small problem running the 2600 Tin Plate rolling stock thru the new 072 FT CC WYE switches, for some unknown reason every once in a while the switch will set off the auto uncoupler, this may have something to due with the Command Control electronices, and how low the 2600 rolling stock sits as it crosses the switch.  It never happens with the 800 series rolling stock however, they sit higher.  The 263E Engine and 12 Wheel Tender float thru the new 072 CC FT WYE Swithces without any problem, a very smooth operation for Tin Plate trains.  Now that I know my Tin Plate Trains will run thru the 072 CC WYE FasTrack switches on a constant repeat basis, I will invest in more of them.  Thanks to the people who advised me to look at the 072 CC FT switches, I appreciate the heads up.  The really great engineering advance in these low voltage CC FT Switches is they operate off of track power perfectly and eliminate all switch wiring, thru out the layout.   I have been waiting for switches that work like this with my Tin plate for a long time, got to give Lionel big time credit, this engineering is simply fantastic.  FasTrack & Tin Plate, I even love it more now.
