I'm designing a rather large conventional Christmas tree layout. I was hoping to use some old Remote FasTrack switches. However, the cords are going to be way too short. I want to mount all the switches right next to the transformer. Has anyone experimented with splicing on some extension cord? A couple of these switch-cords need to be about 8 feet longer. I'm trying to get WAY out in front of any issues this year.

I connect 4 conductor wire to the switches and bring them to terminal strips under the layout. Then I connect the controllers to those.
Excellent. I see that the stock wire is pretty easily unscrewed from the switch. So that should be a tidy solution. Thank you, Cjack.
I think it is easier to unhook the wire at the switch. The controller end requires very short pigtails to work with. Four wire phone cable works well for the extension as the colors match.
