Fastrack switch problem

I am having a problem with a 060 fastrack remote (Command Control) switch. There is no problem when I switch it from straight to the curved section. It is when I want to switch it from the curved section to the straight. If I start flipping the switch controller from the straight to the curve and back rapidly the switch works fine, but if I wait a second while it is on the curve, it will not switch back using the controller. I have not tried to run it via Command Control. I can move it back manually and it will work again until I keep it on the curved section. Where should I start looking for the problem?
