I want to hook up some LED running lights on a Aristo engine to a PS2 board. Well I know the board's output for lights should be 6 volts. I have no idea what the LEDs need. They look different on the engine. The front and rear are clear, but they light up red. The rest are already red, too me. Maybe they're all amber, I can't tell. I looked at the boards in the engine and see various resistors were used from 1K to a couple unmarked ones because they take voltage from different areas of the original boards. So I need to bypass those and add my own.

So I'm guessing that a colored LED would need somewhere in the area of 2.4 volts forward?? Is that accurate? Would they clear ones operate differently than the colored ones? They are all tiny and I may just skip this whole idea. There are even morewhite ones on the chasis steps.

I only need to step them down from 6 volts so I would just try some resistors maybe higher value and decrease until they're bright? It would be a pain to keep trying. I have the Headlights replaced with super bright 3.4v LEDs and 120 ohm resistors make them shine super bright.

What's a safe place to start? 500ohms? 6 volts to 2?? I have no idea what miliamps they need.
