No, if you add a bridge rectifier, you also need to add an electrolytic filter capacitor to the output of the rectifier.

 

The HO transformer may or may not be "filtered", I've seen some that had pretty raw DC coming out.

 

Note that you need to measure the voltage after adding the cap, because it'll make the DC voltage climb from the plain bridge rectifier.
