Sometimes the real estate in our layout is not bast as we want.

In these cases we are forced to reduce the amount of building frustrating our main idea.

So instead to put a big building that take twice space than a small one looks like an option, and if is it designed from a real one even better!

this is a good option for a small fire station building project IMO.

the picture was taken from google map, sadly the sun was in front of the camera, but the image still good enough to appreciate the Fire station.

Engine Co. 74, 10615 S. Ewing

Luckily, I have enough room in the town section of the layout to have full buildings, including my firehouse.  Since I work in S, the selection is limited. But  I found a building front cast in resin that is the basis of my fire house.  I added sides, rear wall and interior floors made of styrene sheets.  The vehicles are Gorgi and (believe it or not) a Hallmark Christmas ornament (the cab-over).

The layout is still a "work in progress", but whose isn't?

Finally done, except for the fire station sign over the door.

this model is just 5 inch wide, perfect for small layout with restricted real estate availability.

The entrance door was engraved with Fire station number and location.

The glaze can be customized per request!!

Feedback are welcome!
