Dealing with a health issue set me back from my hobbies this year, but I have 95% remission and I'm in a management program so things are looking up. Today the weather on Long Island was terrible outside, so instead of working on my Model A Ford restoration project, I ran trains on my layout which has been dormant since last Christmas Season.
My expectation was to realize lots of issues starting-up several of my Rail King PS 2 locomotives, but only one locomotive, a NYC Mallet ran erratically due to a low battery. Running the big Mallet with the smoke OFF for a half-hour restored all of its PS 2 features.
It was lots of fun running two Mallets, the N&W 611, the Hiawatha Hudson, the Commodore Hudson, the Long Island G53 Camelback, the Flying Yankee and a pair Santa Fe F3 A Units. I still have two dead engines on my workbench, but I will be sending these to GGG for repairs. Both locomotives, a Rail King Dreyfus Hudson and a NJC Berk have tether issues.
Just before Christmas I am doing an open house running trains for the neighbors.
