I read that version 4.2 had an issue that if you hadn't entered the engine in your hand held with the same tiu that it wouldn't find the engine. Did that get fixed in version 6.1? We have many engines in the hand held. We saved the handheld on the computer and then down loaded the file after up dating both the tiu and handheld to the most current 6.1 & 6.2. Do we have to reload all engines at least once manually, aas we have engines that say not engine on the track when addressed? Also, do you have to clear all the engines, factory reset, to get rid of empty address  numbers that won't allow you to edit them?

I believe the best way forward would be to back up the remote ( I believe you already have), reset it, and then reload the engine list. That should give you back those missing or locked up empty addresses.

It has been my experience so far, that I've had to delete any consists from old DCS versions, and also some engines that would not run with new DCS versions. I think it would be just easier to start all over sometimes!

If you have the app running on devices, loading engines can be faster anyways. The remote takes longer. That said, the remote will load faster if you only have one TIU at address #1 entered in that remote. I would also tether the remote to that TIU. That might not be needed if it's the only one? MTH might have fixed the issue you describe? In a club, having a dedicated remote, TIU combination might be best?

There have been many fixes by MTH but it is hard to keep track of them all. It's easier to have a standard procedure in place when adding engines and building consists to keep things in check. I like the idea of having a dedicated add engine track with nothing else powered.

My remotes are so mixed up that when I get the extra energy, I want to start all over with a clean slate. I have four TIUs, three remotes, and several android devices so it might take some time. For now I just delete any old consists that don't behave when called on and rebuild them. Remembering which engines and which way they faced on each consist makes me think an accurate written log should be kept anytime you add something to the remote. I think I'll remember each and then forget them as they go unused over time. Maybe I could add them under the road number with F or R on each from now on?

I'm rambling on with my problems here!
