Have stone faced foam (Woodland Scenic?) that I want to attach to pink foam board. Attached parts are not under tension so glue doesn't need to be super strong stick. White or carpenter glue doesn't work.
Any suggestions for a fast drying glue that won't melt the foam as some contact cements do?

I've attached foam stone retaining walls with Elmer's white glue. I used pins to press it against the pink foam while the glue set up.
Hot glue works very well, although you need to be careful not to melt the foam. Dribble it from some height so it cools a bit, or use low temperature glue.
I think Loctite makes a glue specifically for foam to foam. I think I have some at home. Will check tonight and get back with specifics. I'm going to be doing some of that shortly.

I used this on a LOT of the different items to stick to pink foam board. It worked well.
I did have a lot to do.

Near-instant setup is the big advantage of hot glue. It is the "super glue" for big stuff. One can work very rapidly.
I know it sounds wrong, but give it a try. With a bit of technique it works very well.
W-S makes a low-temp "hot" glue gun that works with their low temp foam glue. Works nicely on small stuff. It cools too quickly for large areas (experience here...). For those I second (third) the opinion of the Loctite foam board glue. It holds well and does not damage the delicate foam. Buy the Loctite. They're owned by Henkel who is very nicely paying my pension.
I use GREAT STUFF as it neatly fills in all cracks and openings and when dry locks to all foam materials. Can be sanded, cut and painted when dry if need be.
Use gloves and a spatula to smooth into areas.

That's what I used, was low temp hot glue ("low temperature" and "hot" seems like an oxymoron). Worked great and allowed me to quickly assemble my little project.

Construction adhesives are fine if you prefer them, but as has been stated, the downside is the long setup time. Hot glue is plenty strong, convenient, far cheaper.... and fast.
Hot glue. Done.
Cheap. Works for me. Does not melt the foam.
I used low temp hot glue gun on my mountains..
Worked just fine.
All good suggestions...I've also used this.

This is what I use as well. Really, any latex based product like this will work.
