today I decided to try to make a bridge. the goal was to be what I was looking for, strong, but yet span 52 inchs and not cost an arm and a leg to do so. the structure of the bridge is a simple 1x4 52 inchs long to fit the area to be spanned. so I started drawing up a plan of a 32 inch truss bridge then on both ends put a girder bridge. well I cut it out of foam core glued it up with spacers to move it out from the 1x4. then built the girder bridges the same way. here is the results.   next step to make 2 4 legged bridge supports to put under where the girders meet the truss bridge but it has to allow for a train to run through the supports below.

I did 2 bass wood ones before for some reason they kept falling apart I used carpenters wood glue but for some reason or another they kept coming apart the last time I had an engine running across it when part of it gave out so this time it's more of a dressing up something that already is strong (solid wood )  I like your bridge looks good
