I'm getting setup to cut through the foam-core board to make the streets flush. What would be the best material to fill in what I'm hoping ends up to be very small gaps between the Foam-core and the track? 40' +/- of track
I think the best thing is to skim coat the whole surface with thin plaster. It gives a better surface look--depending on what you are trying to model. Lots of folks like Durham's Water Putty. I like it for "old" surfaces, since is very hard and produces convincing cracks. It is best to tint the plaster while mixing. This is foam-core under Durham's:
