Why is it that some threads start out normal screen width, and then expand horizontally? I have to either scroll across to read long lines of text, or reduce my screen zoom level to 75% or more. It does get annoying. At 75% I have to put on a stronger pair of glasses. Is it the addition of pictures causing this?

If a large picture expands the screen width, the whole thread is wider.
Thanks gunrunnerjohn for the explanation. It would be nice if posters realized this and resized their pictures accordingly.
They do some resizing here, I've seen this worse in other forums. On the one that I'm the Admin in, I just resize them for the poster, problem solved. 
Every time I see a poster do that, I immediately alert the moderator!
You can also do the same thing.

It is because you are trying to make "...even lines..."
Just type...and don't use carriage returns to try to make the type "...even..."
My pet peeve is that I enjoy the forum with my ipad and even though is has improved immensely in the last year, there are still some quirks to work out. Oh and anytime someone uses name word LASHUp.
