It pains me to have to report that Frank has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and past away. This came on suddenly, he didn’t show any symptoms and was not diagnosed until mid August. Those of you that knew Frank know that he was a big Teddy Bear with a whimsical sense of humor. He was an easy man to befriend. I’m certain that his family has the condolences of the OGR community. I am going to miss my dear friend.

my prayers go out to frank and his family, this hurts so bad I've been hearing and seeing a lot of forum members passing on . God be with them.

My condolences to Frank's family and friends. Cancer took my father's life a few years ago as well. It was an ugly and aggressive disease. I know what Frank's family must be going through at this difficult time. I will keep them in my prayers. God bless.
Richard, I'm sorry to read about the loss of your friend Frank. We all regret the passing of another forum member. My prayers go out for Frank and his family and friends.
Boy, I hate cancer!

So sorry to hear this Richard. TCA member Larry Keys succumbed to pancreatic cancer some years ago and his widow, Peggy has built a very nice Toy Train Museum in his memory and to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer. It is located in Lake Lure, NC and she has an area with the names and photos of many people who have died from it.
Lake Lure is where 'Dirty Dancing' was filmed and she has Patrick Swayzee's(sp?) photo among others.
Did you happen to know Larry Keys? He was a CBS Recording engineer in NY.
Wow, I am so sorry to hear about this- I too, knew Frank and am sad to hear this news...
My prayers and condolences to his family and friends.
Andy

Sorry to hear that. My sympathies to the family.
Those who have been touched by pancreatic cancer will probably identify with this. But it seems like you hear about a lot of people who are stricken by this deadly disease. Every time I hear about pancreatic cancer I get a chill.
My family was extremely lucky because my Mom had pancreatic cancer and they caught it early. Thus she survived. We are incredibly, incredibly lucky.
My heart goes out to Frank’s family. They are in my thoughts and will remain there during this difficult time. And if I may let me share something with you guys. In late July I had extreme chills, and a fever that was very high. I was admitted into the ER where they determined I had a bacterial infection on my leg along with some blood poisoning. It was a terrifying experience. I remember laying on the gurney in the Emergency Clinic surrounded by 2 ER doctors, paramedics and 2 nurses trying to raise my blood pressure and stabilize me as I was in shock. My blood pressure at the time was 70 over 40. In the end I fought the infection, I was blessed to keep my leg, and I spent a month and a half rebuilding my immune system.
There were some things I learned from the ordeal.
Guys…
Take care of yourselves so your loves ones will have you around for a while.
Follow the doctor’s orders to the tee.
See the doctor regularly
Lose weight, eat more fruits and vegetables and cut back on portions
Don’t take life for granted. I didn’t think I did…but in the end I saw that I did. I even took my leg for granted.
Appreciate your family and friends.
Always remember to keep problems in perspective. This major illness put so many problems in perspective for me. Don’t sweet the small stuff in life. Life will always have problems.
And as I stated above I can’t stress this enough. Get regular checks ups… As I was on the cancer floor (where the spare bed was for me) of the hospital I was staying at I saw and heard some distressing stuff. I asked the IV nurse about what type of cancers they had there. She told me of helping to discharge someone who had stage 4 colon cancer. This guy ignored all the warnings and didn’t see his doctor for regular checks ups. In the end there was nothing they could do and the nurse told me that he had 4 or 5 months to live. So get that check up. See the doctor and take care of yourself.
My thoughts and prayers are with Frank's family and friends. The loss of yet another railroading fan is quite sad.
Our condolences from the Muffin household..... I am so sorry to have read this....
Condolences to his family at this time & in the difficult weeks ahead. What was Frank's last name?
I knew Frank fairly well and he represented our hobby just great. It seems that pancreatic cancer is running rampid of late affecting my mom a few years ago, my best freind just this past spring and cancer in general affecting several other freinds and my Wife for a second time as we speak.
I give my condolences to his freinds and family.

Very sad to hear this news. Frank was a real nice guy He will be missed
Sympathies going out to Frank's family and those who new him very well. It's particularly sad to hear so many folks being called beyond this life's final chapter these days. Far too many when you think back over the past few years, especially. Downright scary, in fact.
David
Our sympathies go out to Frank's family and close friends...and to the OGR forum members.

My condolences to the family.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing. We are never ready to lose someone close to us. I agree with MUEagle... we need to take as good care of ourselves as we can so that our loved ones won't have to lose us so soon.
My deepest condolences to Frank's friends and family.
Rich, I'm glad to see you posted a picture of Frank. That is the way we will remember him.
