Frisco FlyerChief Meteor Northern Passenger Cars

I am not, but it raises the question of why will Ron make another run of these cars but not another run of the long sold out NYC heavyweights? Those I would buy.

I would buy NEW HAVEN green heavy weights but not Frisco.

I might buy the sold out green NH heavyweights as well. I even have the green NH engine to pull them.

With my Tom Hodgson's NYC Dreyfuss engine I just put a set of LIonel AF NYC streamliner passenger cars behind it. What passenger cars did it use originally when in service. I do have a set of four AM heavyweights as well but never used them with it so far.

If the paint matches, I might bite.  I bought the original run and was sorely disappointed with the mismatch.  I can repurpose those.

The NH cars would like nice with the two NH Pacific's I have on order with Ron(hopefully they get made) and my two Lionel PA sets. I do not think Scale trains will produce much while I am still around to buy them.

What are the details of the Frisco cars, particularly length. Are these heavyweights (which

they seem to be) or streamliners.  I would love to have a set of Frisco heavyweight Pullmans

to run behind my MTH Frisco 4501 4-8-4 if they are reasonably priced.

Gunny, I have one of Ron's NH Pacific's pulling my McGinnis painted NH cars now. I have a green NH Trainmaster that needs a job. For the NYC heavyweights I have a newer Lionel AF Northern that started life as a FlyerChief but is now a TMCC/Railsounds engine. It also needs a job. I preordered a set of the GGD NYC passenger cars but it is looking unlikely they will be made.

I never noticed the NH trainmasters on his website if he still has a pair I will own them Monday!

I have one NH pacific pulling the same cars and a set of FA ABA units pulling eight. I really like dealing with Ron his products and service is great. I have had my fill of Lionel.

Here is mine. Ron still has both singles and doubles on the website as available.

Back to the Meteor.  When these were produced last time he was supplied with the paint scheme of the heavyweight cars that the Frisco actually used and the names given each of the cars.  Frisco used 6 wheel trucks on all cars so Ron put them on all the cars.  I have the mail car, baggage car, combination car, 2 coaches and the observation car.  I have attached a photo of my engine with one of the cars.

The only thing that was disappointing with the set was the shade of blue they used.  I sent this photo at Ron Bashista's request so he could see the difference.

If he can fix this situation how many of you are interested?

If AM got the correct shade, then why did Lionel get it so wrong for the engine? Don’t they do the same research as Ron has done to make sure it is technically correct ?

Actually Ron did no research on color.  Ryan got it right.

When Ryan Kunkle said Lionel was not going to make passenger cars for the engine I asked for paint numbers.  He gave me the paint number of white, but he didn't have it for blue.  I sent my tender up to Ron so he could match the blue.  He doesn't remember why it didn't match. 

Mark Heiger did a lot of work helping him with Frisco information on the actual cars.  He no longer participates in this group, but I am sure many of you remember him.  We got photos of the finished set in the S Gaugian on Mark's layout.

Just got off the phone with Ron at AMERICAN MODELS ordering some engines. GREAT NEWS he agreed to rerun a batch of NH green heavyweights! I recommend any one who wants some get the order in.

Thanks Gunny! I am also going to order the 3-pack of 80' green NH heavyweights still listed as available on the website.

Bill, I don't blame you, though AM heavyweights are mentioned throughout this thread.  Sometimes a small side comment isn't worth a whole new thread.

With apologies to Bill, Gunny I called Ron this AM and ordered 9 of the green NH passenger cars. The 5 car set, the extra coach and the 3 car set of 80' sleepers+cafe car. Ron seemed pleasantly surprised he already had another New Haven order.

Guys, I am not trying to protect this thread.  I just know not everybody will follow it and there could be a lot of people wanting Ron to produce different road names of heavyweight cars.
