The Tyco Turbo train is HO. I have (or had) a version of the set that did not come with the jump. I still have the train itself. I would not call it a quality piece.
Tyco also did a 'future train' that ran on HO scale slot car track that had 'track' printed in black on light gray track. It ran much better than the set that used HO track. I still have a set that included a ATSF Warbonnet train and a PRR green 5 stripe train.
I bought the MTH COORS train because it was a 'future' looking train. Lionel has that odd looking loco and cars.
Then there is Mattel Hot Trains......but we are getting further away from O scale trains!!
with 3 d printers you can make whatever comes in your head, just fit it to a power frame,,
The only" futuristic" O gauge trains would be the Lionel phantom sets.
I wish somebody would pick up making scale European and Asian high speed train sets. Acela is a start but I would support :
tgv sets,
Eurostar train sets,
ice train sets:
and Japanese shinkansen sets.
Those examples plus the ace 3000
would be futuristic for me!

Who needs a 3D printer????
This loco is HO scale but could be replicated in O as the major parts come from a FM Trainmaster and a Shark body shells. Easy to kitbash or scratchnuild w/o learning CAD 3D software.
lionel phantom.
Seriously, a good start to a futuristic O gauge trains are the MTH Turbo Train
and the Lionel Acela.
Those turbo trains are some of my favorite things from childhood. I found these unpowered floor toys they are 17 inches long and near OScale. They are in my project pile the boxcar is a Williams for scale.

Those are cool, a perfect candidate for an O-gauge upgrade. You'd have a one-of-a-kind unit.
