I used the unpainted MTH set of 120 figures.  To me they are undersized when viewed in a setting where the entire figure is visible.  But for my RK passenger cars they were perfect.  Of course I had to paint them but 1) I enjoy that activity and 2) I could make the color schemes completely unique.

I also liked that some of figures are standing.

True. The same oversized clown faced figures still made by RMT. Here is the pic from their website:

The MTH bag of 120 unpainted figures (mix of sitting and standing) and the Golden Gate Depot Little People will fit passenger cars without amputations. Most other figures need amputations or need to be moved to aisle seats where the head height above the window is not as visible. The MTH figures are out of production and getting hard to find.
