Two different looks. Neither is ballasted or weathered. Will probably use both.  Coal yard for loading dump cars  and  scrap steel might be going on trucks or barge.
They one with g gauge track has a drive mechanism for crane. The Gargraves will be manual but most likely position to grab coal and just pivot using bucket. Steel of course will use magnets and scrap bins with loops for the hook. I am also thinking of burying the  rails in concrete for the scrap yard.

Looking for feedback, suggestions, and photos for inspiration.

Hi Dennis, I agree and have been thinking of burying the g scale ties and up to top of rail in a raised concrete block foundation. If I do the same with the RR track but keep it lower, I will be able to load gondolas and also drive in trucks for unloading scrap metal. I think the Gargraves will work well for the coal yard and I will ballast them with black yard ballast. Fred
