I am adding two separate grades to reach an upper portion of my layout that I am building. I'd like them to be made from or appear to look like steel girders. There is a curve in each grade so some sort of material that can be manipulated vs. a rigid material would be great. Each grade will be around 20 feet long.
If nothing exists, has anyone come up with a creative way to disguise grades so that they dont look like a piece of painted wood?
Any input you have is appreciated.

We sell 2 foot sections of girder made from tempered hardboard
I've used plywood for the track base (painted black) with erector girders screwed into the edge. I like the older style girders, they're wider. I've polished them and painted them in prewar tinplate colors. Pretty easy. There are alot of graduated trestles that can attach to the plywood. Actually, 1/4 inch plywood fits nicely into the holders on the MTH clips for Real Trax.
The New Jersey Hi-Rail deck bridge material should be similar to this.
This MTH bridge set is also on a grade.

Mike - what product is that in your photos? Product pictured in my photo was custom bridge by Bridge Solutions, Brian Cooper. NJ Hirail product should be similar. I'm not sure whether Brian is still in business or not. Third picture is an MTH bridge with some modifications of the piers. That is pretty much what I am looking for.
