I found so 2"x2" slide materials that id 1mm thick.
1. How is it cut?
2. Is it difficult to cut?
3. How do I round the corners, etc.
Thanks in advance.

I think 1mm is too thick. Clover House sells 0.0006 glass. That's the best option if you ask me. A simple scribe does the trick. Dan at The O Scale Resource did a great article about working with glass. A word of advice, there is not such thing as too many precautions when working with glass!

Here is the video I did to go with the article.

You don't want to use microscope slide glass, rather microscope cover slips which are considerably thinner. Its made with real glass as well as optically clear plastic. Obviously plastic is easier to work with. You can get either on ebay as well as other sources. I have used both. Unless this is to be entered in a national model contest I would go with the plastic.

I use plastic food containers cut with sharp knife, glued with SMALL dab.....
Gentlemen,
Thank you all for the help.

Inserting glass windows in plastic shell: ??May be the window opening could be altered to fit the square cornered glass insert?? The safety meeting of the day, should be applied to this project. IMO Mike CT.
