As has been posted by Jim above, I would purchase the Illinois Central, City of New Orleans, (or Panama Limited).

The E7's (done formerly) and now the E8's were both correct for the City of New Orleans. The only thing holding me back from committing on any of the E8's are the lack of any passenger cars.

Good question. There has been a lot of talk about the Great Northern Empire Builder and the Northern Pacific North Coast Limited sets. These two road names were done by K-Line many years ago and are highly sort after.

I would also support a nice set of UP Lightweights.

The GN and NP passenger equipment may be the same manufacturer as the UP equipment, thus rivets.

Not quite - we need a Yellow Kid train.

Oh, that would be swell. Of course, you'd need a proper loco to pull it; perhaps a 3rd Rail project.

Likely would never happen-way too specific for the market. But-the Pennsy foamer market is nothing to sneeze at. For we Beano-lovers, a considerably smaller market(?), we did get the Cincinattian..

Even though I have the 3rd Rail E8, I'd prefer to see a SAL M2 4-8-2 Mountain pulling the OBS.  I'd have to look but I'm thinking the OBS was all heavyweight cars, other than the Pullman-Bradley streamlined coaches and combines (Weaver were the only ones to offer a SAL coach )

I know Scott has the plans for the Silver Meteor, hoping that's on the table.

A really cool train would be the "Carolina Golfer" (#197 and 198), from New York to Pinehurst NC.  Of course we'd have to find some scale golfers, caddies, and golf clubs/bags

Hey Man I took that east of Cheyenne maybe 2010. I have many more. I miss her.

Nice shot of the 3985. Please provide additional information, i.e. date and location.

Thanks.

During the 1930s Pullman Standard decided to make their streamlined cars out of welded steel.  UP had already decided they wanted them made out of aluminum, and seeing a how they had not figured out how to weld aluminum yet they were riveted together.  Making the rivets as decals on a smooth side car is certainly very doable.

HOWEVER,  4 people want the M-10002, 4 want the M-10004, 4 want the 5th train, 4 want the 8th train, 4 want the 10th train, 4 want the 18th train, 6 people want the domeliners, etc.  As they are all very different trains and no one seems interested in a compromise train there is not sufficient market for 1 UP train.

If someone could come up with a list of 8 different cars that 75 people would reserve a set of then it would become a more serious possibility.

I'm pretty excited about the upcoming Harriman sets/add-ons.  I'll have to find a locomotive for them still. Maybe 3rd rail will come through someday with a proper UP heavy pacific.

....but so long as we're dreaming I might be tempted by Chicago and NorthWestern's Minnesota 400...

Here's a link to Precision Scale's photo for their HO version....then again 3rd Rail would have to make the matching Yellow-Jacket ES 4-6-2.

I know Weaver did a set some years ago but I would love to see the detail GGD would bring to the passenger cars.

Sunset/3rd Rail already issued some really nice SP Pacifics, of various classes.

..

I've seen one once in a while on the bay and photos in other places.  They are very nice...

Pretty sure that the engine has already been done more than a few times,

The Heavy Harriman Pacific is a different animal.  Here is a uP heavy with SP tender, in 17/64.  I have the UP coal tender ready to solder - some day.  The SP version, at least later on, had a shorter smokebox and only one cab window per side.

Do you really think the Chinese could apply decal rivets for cheap, on these UP cars?  Maybe they could use the Des Plaines/Kemtron etchings - the non- annealed cars are quite nice.

Fun topic!

Although likely more of a 3rdRail project, I figure capitalize on the success of the Train of Tomorrow as well as continue the trend of early EMD locomotives and do the Burlington Nebraska Zephyr headed by the stainless E5 as seen at the Illinois Railway Museum.

That being said, I too would be interested in a UP, Milwaukee, or Great Northern set, in that order.

Where do I reserve?!  Would love to have this train.

Oh, how I want.  I'd gladly take at least one.

My card is up for a third bid for the Colorado Eagle...what years did it run, and was it or another named predecessor pulled by steam, and, if so, what steamer?  I remember riding along side a MoPac steam passenger, maybe about 1955, I think in Kansas, as a

teenager.  (except for the caboose book, I don't have other references or knowledge on

the MoPac)

I would like to see a re-run of some of the heavyweight sets, specifically the B&O.  I not interested in the modern heavyweights.

May be more of a 3rd Rail item, but I would love to have the auto carrier from the Summer of 1965, B&O experimental Chessie "Take-Your-Auto-Service."

I believe the auto carrier was actually built for Volkswagen in the mid 50's and could carry 10 VW Beatles.  Given that bugs were 160" (13'4"), I'm guessing that flatcar must have been somewhere around 72' in length.  I believe that the two cars were returned to VW service in the Fall of 1965.

Could be plastic or brass.

If you're referring to the D-16sb, well, yes.

Not to go all Foamer on you, but for the 1890 version of the Pennsylvania Limited you need a D-16a, 80" drivers and D-valve cylinders. Ain't seen one of those. Guess one could score a D-16sb (ha!) and modify it....

I do have, also, a photo of the 1905 train pulled by and E-2a.

So-we need 3rd Rail to ante up, should Scott be talked into a Yellow Kid
