I needed some Gargraves track to finish up my layout. Went to Trainworld  site Monday and placed an order. Got it a week.....but it sat at the UPS depot since Friday so pretty quick.  It was packed as good or better than anything I have gotten in the past year from anyone!!! Thanks! It was also cool to see the Gargraves manufacture date of Dec 2016 on the box....again so great to be able to buy a great product made right here.

Now a question if anyone knows.......I placed two orders last week, both companies in NY state. (you might guess one of them) Neither has a office or store in WV. One charged NY state sales tax....the other did not......why??  I know law and the internet are not in sync right now....is it just the wild west......no hard laws??? Just wondering....seems strange.

Train World Box Dec 4 2017

My wife ordered my train Christmas Present, I gave her the Black Cyber Codes and a list and a budget.  This package game on Saturday. she took off the packing slip envelope to make it a surprise.  I make the list larger than the budget.

She told me that the order desk lady was very helpful, she told me her first name but I forgot.  I think my adult son helped her place the order.

Please mention the name of the seller that charged sales tax on an out-of-state purchase.  (I don't think it would be construed as bashing a sponsor - it's just factual information regarding their procedure.)  I have purchased from both Trainworld and Nassau Hobby within the past few months, and neither has collected sales tax, so I'm wondering what big NY store you're referring to.

Did you contact the vendor to ask why they are doing this?  Better yet - question it before finalizing the order.
