Having never previously attended a “train show” before, I’m planning on coming to York this April.

While scoping out the York Fairgrounds on Google Earth, I noticed that some sort of indoors event had taken place there on the day that the satellite photo was taken.

Yep!   It’s last year’s April Swap Meet (4/15/16)  ..... well, at least until GE refreshes the photo of that region.

I believe that the usual number of attendees is between 12,000 and 15,000 per event.  There is no problem parking or finding something to eat, or finding an ATM, although it usually runs out of cash halfway through the first full day (Friday).

Bring small bills for small items, large bills for high-priced stuff, plastic shopping bags, comfortable shoes, a checkbook, a windbreaker/hooded parka in case of rain, and an appetite for every toy train you've ever dreamt about.

If you were to Google "Eastern Division train meet York" you would eventually find this:

Probably no other source explains the York Experience better.

I've been to it 60 or so times, and it's always the same, and always different.

I doubt that was taken during the TCA show.

So I should expect bigger crowds than that shown in the photo?   I plan to attend on Thursday.

Friday is the big day but even Thursday the parking lots will be much more full than shown at google earth, at least on the image I saw. Virtually all the pavement will have vehicles on it and a lot of the grass.

There will definitely be more cars than shown in the picture.  Specifically the area towards the smaller buildings that are near the edge of the Fairgrounds that is closer to Market Street.
